Matthew Brockbank
A lifelong resident of Upstate New York, Matthew was born and grew up in Schenectady where he attended high school. This experience solidified the importance of the public school system for him because of the great programs and cultural diversity it offered.
He then attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. His passion for “the science of society” therefore turned into a interest for politics after working on the gubernatorial campaign for former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.
Knowing that he just couldn’t stay away from the beauty of the Adirondacks, or the convenience that living near Albany offered, he settled with his wife in Defreestville, a hamlet of North Greenbush. Loving it so much, they decided to purchase a house in Wynantskill, making the town of North Greenbush their permanent home.
With an aptitude for technology since a young age, Matthew found a career in technology working formerly as a Data Analyst for Amazon.com before his current role as a Software Engineer for New York State.
